3 Warming Winter Porridge Recipes

ingredients

1/2 cup rolled oats 
1 cup milk of your choice
2 teaspoons chia seeds 
1/2 banana, sliced in half
1/2 teaspoon honey 
1 heaped teaspoon natural peanut butter 
sprinkle of hemp seeds, to serve
sprinkle of cinnamon, to serve
Combine oats and milk in a small saucepan. Bring to boil then reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes until milk is absorbed to your desired consistency. Stir through chia seeds.

Meanwhile heat a small fry pan. Add banana slices and grill with a little drizzle of honey until carmalised.

To serve, top oats with caramalised bananas a dollop of nut butter and sprinkle wth hemp seeds & cinnamon.

Pear & Chai Spiced Oats

Apple, Coconut & Cinnamon Oats

1/2 cup rolled oats 
1 cup milk of your choice
1 chai teabag (or loose leaf tea)
2 teaspoons chia seeds 
1/4 pear finely diced

to serve:
1/4 pear sliced
1/2 teaspoon honey 
2 teaspoons, crushed almonds
sprinkle of cinnamon

2/3 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 tablespoon chia seeds
20g tablespoon unflavoured protein powder
1/4 apple diced or grated
1 teaspoon honey (optional) 

to serve: 
1/4 apple diced
sprinkle of cinnamon
2 teaspoons crushed walnuts

Method

Brew chai tea in a small amount of boiling water for a few minutes. Combine oats, milk, diced pear & chai tea in a small saucepan. Bring to boil then reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes until milk is absorbed to your desired consistency. Stir through chia seeds.

To serve, top oats with sliced pear, chopped almonds, cinnamon and a drizzle of honey.
